Angus College Involvement in the Project

Arbroath Smokies

Targeting Tourism provides Angus College with a cultural catalyst to develop a sustainable education and training infrastructure with Tourism, Hospitality and Catering businesses across the region.

Our over-arching aim is to enable employers to recruit a stable, technically and proficient workforce by establishing employability as the key driver of education and training.

The College recently established an Angus Tourism, Hospitality and Catering Skills Committee to contribute to a variety of open discussions concerning training, support and development issues, the raising of standards within the sector and the overall profile and reputation of the Angus tourism industry. Each committee member is able to contribute their own unique skills, expertise and experiences so that the Targeting Tourism agenda remains focussed and responds directly to need.

A schedule of unique events and programme of activities has also been planned to bring together tourism managers, business owners and employees to hear first hand from people in the industry who have taken their business forward with drive, passion and lots of enthusiasm and seen real results.
